Surface of Revolution
Surface of Revolution

Instructions:
In this program you can create a 2d curve which will be revolved around the vertical axis to create a 3d surface. The 2d editor shows the cross-section of the 3d surface that will be generated. That's why two curves appear on the screen instead of one. Whenever you'd like to create your 3d surface, hit the "create surface" button. It will appear in the lower window. If you hold down "ctrl" and click on a vertex that is on the axis of revolution (up axis), it will "identify" that vertex when making the surface of revolution. That means that only one vertex is generated when revolving the curve around the axis instead of 4. This is indicated by an orange circle around the vertex. Basically, it will change how the curve looks. Other than that the directions for the top portion of the program are the same as the 2d demo. The directions for the bottom portion of the program are the same as the 3d demo.
